Broker's Featured Agents: More Power to Them!

Our Broker clients have enjoyed MyRealPage "Agent Directory" product with full website integration for some time now, including the ability to "Feature An Agent" on any rotation schedule, manual, automatic, or random.

Now, the "Featured Agent" has even more power.

  • As a broker, you may decide to register a domain and associate it with an Instant Agent Website. You can now do that from your "Domains" module.
  • As a broker, you may decide to forward all listing inquiries from your website to your feature agent; equally, you may decide that the featured agent should also screen and process Virtual Office Website (VOW) sign-ups. Now you can easily enable this function and you can even copy all communication to your main email account, just in case...

  • Now, you can also specify which forms on your website, when submitted, should be forwarded to your Featured Agent. Some forms, such as "Home Evaluation", are good candidates, whereas others, such as "Become an Agent", may be left to go to the main broker email account: the choice is yours!
Featured Agent Web Form Communication

  • To round-off this new suite of features, you can also "delegate" any contact or lead in your Contact/Lead Manager to any one of your agents which has a MyRealPage account. The contact or lead is transferred fully, including their Virtual Office Website (VOW) subscription (if any), username and password:

Domains: More Options, More Power!

MyRealPage has added another set of options to the "Domains" module. Now, you have two options when configuring an existing domain manually (i.e. without transferring it):
  • Retain control over your domain's Registration, but have us handle the DNS (Domain Name Service). This manual option is marked "Simple" in the tools.
  • Retain control over both your domain's Registration and DNS (Domain Name Service). This manual option is marked "Advanced" in the tools.
  • Both options have "Manual Instructions" link that displays information regarding what you need to do yourself or pass to your technical help at the place of your domain's registration.
In addition, you now have access to the "Current DNS Info" link which will show you how your domain is currently configured by doing all the DNS lookups for you. It may be of great help when troubleshooting issues:

Your Listing "Goodies": easier than ever!

MyRealPage has made a number of improvements to make sure that all your Listing "Goodies" are easily accessible and are well connected to your website. What are your Listing "Goodies"? They are:

  • Your listings
  • Your saved predefined searches
  • Your saved search forms
The new easy access to these "goodies" is now automatically available:

  • In your website's Site Map (as well as sitemap.xml) as direct URLs, including creating multiple pages if there are too many listings for one page (as suggested by Google Webmaster Guidelines)
  • When you are insterting a menu item pointing to any of these "goodies" via a URL
  • When you are inserting a link into a formatted HTML and need to link to any of these "goodies"
  • When you simply want to "copy out" the link from your Private Office to include it somewhere other than your website (for example, as a link in your listing information with your Real Estate Board, Google Adwords, third-party blogs, etc.)
  • When you would like to "fine-tune" these URLs (links) by including in them keywords of your choice
The URLs (links) to these "goodies" are very human-readable; and you are even in control to change what keywords show up in these links. For example, a link to a listing on your website may have the following form:
http://jennifer-mccoy.com/456-Cornwall-St-Kitsilano-mylistings-2342.property
Whereas a link to a saved search may look like this:
http://jennifer-mccoy.com/Luxury-Downtown-Condos-recip-2492.properties
Oh, and yes, this feature is included in your standard package at no extra charge. Enjoy!

One-Click Domains are here!

If you have ever been involved in setting up a domain to point to your website, and you had the misfortune of needing to communicate between your "techie" and the website company, or even worse: had to do it yourself; you would probably agree that it's a royal pain! "Domain registrar", "IP Addresses", "'A' Records", "CNAMEs": just writing those things is tiring! And what's worse, it appears that, increasingly, the online marketing turns towards relying on domains to promote individual brands. Here are a few examples of what you would see others use multiple domains for:

  • Simply as alternatives for a website: "JudieSellsHomes.com" and "JudieMcGregor.com"
  • To point to individual listings: "123-main-street.com", or "Ruby-Tower-Penthouse.com"
  • To browse properties by neighborhood or other criteria: "Downtown-Luxury-Lofts.com"
  • To point to popular searches: "Search-Starter-Homes.com"
  • To create special marketing campaigns: "october-discounts-with-judie-mcgregor.com" and point visitors to the discount details (great for Google Adwords!)
MyRealPage has made it extremely simple now to register and set up your domains. It won't even feel like you are "setting up" anything. You will be up and running in a matter of minutes, or even seconds! With MyRealPage's "One-Click Domains", you can:

  • Register, transfer, or manually create a domain of your choice (provided of course, it hasn't been already registered!)
  • You can point the newly created domain to:
    • Your main Website
    • A Search you have composed and saved through your Private Office, e.g. "Downtown-Luxury-Lofts.com"
    • A Search Form which reflects popular criteria, such as "Search-Starter-Homes.com" pre-selecting lower-range prices and rentable suites, for example
    • An individual listing you would like to promote specially
    • Any page in your website (even a document or graphic)
    • Attach a Google Analytics ID to any one of these domains to track traffic to them via this popular free service!
  • When a web visitor follows such a domain, it will automatically "go" to the right place. Even better, your web visitor will stay within the same domain which they used originally as they continue to browse the rest of your website. This makes it possible for you to collect individual domain statistics reflecting how effective your marketing campaign targetting this domain is!
  • You can even point your domains to go to external websites, e.g. "http://www.my-other-website.com"

Your Listings in Your Blogs: Automatically!

Blogging is a great online tool to promote the dynamic nature of your website, offer your opinion on a subject of your choice, be heard! If you offer interesting content, your web visitors will come back for more, search engines will favor you, and you will get the satisfaction of having an audience!

Wouldn't it be great though, if your listings could automatically be published to your blogs, as you sign up new properties, sell them, and hold open houses! Each listing already has important information in it; and publishing it by hand is repetitive and boring. Well, enter Automatic Listing Blogs...

Let's take a moment to see what you can already do with MyRealPage blogs:
  • Create Unlimited blogs, Unlimited postings and publish them on Unlimited number of pages
  • Allow comments to be posted by web visitors; invite feedback, stay connected to your visitors
  • Stop automatic "spambots" from posting annoying ads in your comments (that "goobly-goo" text image that you need to re-type before you post, it's called CAPTCHA, and that's what it's for!)
  • Filter and approve comments to prevent manual spam or abusive content from making its way into your blog comments
  • Syndicate your blogs by offering an RSS feed to web visitors
  • Ping back well known blog aggregators, including custom ones that recognize blog pings
  • Save and publish your blogs later, only after you review them; unpublish postings if needed
  • Provide full archive links, blog category links, and links to other blogs you may have
  • Oh, and yes, it's included in your standard package at no extra charge. Enjoy!

Great, but what about Automatic Listing Blogs? Well, in addition to the above, this is what you can do now:

  • "Opt in" to have MyRealPage automatically monitor your listing activity nightly and publish all or any of the following changes: New Listings, Sold Listings, and Open Houses.
  • Remember that, in many markets, MyRealPage listings are brought in from your MLS Board automatically, so this becomes a fully automated process: no ongoing input from you is required
  • Customize and personalize your Automatic Blogs by editing the templates, including adding images, in order to promote your specialty and brand
  • Create automatic blogs "manually" if you would like them generated "right now!" or for your older listings; or experiment with the templates...
  • Listing location and neighborhood information will show up in your Blog Navigation, thus linking your Automatic Blogs to Neighborhood keywords (this is good for search engines)
  • Include these automatic postings into your main blog so that they show up alongside your manual postings, or dedicate individual page or pages to the automatic blogs
  • Oh, and yes, it's included in your standard package at no extra charge. Enjoy!
We hope you enjoy this great new tool! Below is a 10 minute video that shows you the many powerful features listed above. (We also have MORE great news coming, stay tuned!)

Search Listings by Google Maps: Tips and Tricks

MyRealPage has recently released a unique innovative Google Map Listings Search. Many of you who are MyRealPage customers, and your clients have already used this tool. We would like to outline some of  its many features and show you a more complete video of what you can do with it.

Google Map Listings Search features the functionality and interactivity which are expected by today's high Web 2.0 standards. This tool allows you to literally "draw" your searches by outlining what area on the map you would like to search listings in, and further narrowing the criteria to your liking.

  • Draw a rectangle,  circle, or an arbitrary "free-hand" shape to outline your area of interest
  • Select many standard and advanced search option criteria to narrow your search
  • Display the listing markers right in the page and quickly preview their information, or...
  • Browse search results in a more traditional list
  • In some markets, you may be able to search listings by well-known areas; such as neighborhoods, by "drilling" in and out of areas and sub-areas. Click to select an area and span any number of them, even if they do not adjoin. (We continue to add this feature to new markets; if you don't see it in yours, it's most likely coming soon...)
  • Select areas from a more text-oriented tree by navigating the tree to the desired areas and selecting them.
  • And, of course, like any other search form in the MyRealPage listing solution, it can be used by your buyers to save their searches, whereas you can pre-define neighborhood searches. You can set Google Map Listing Search as your default search form and even pre-draw areas and pre-select criteria to reflect your geographic or other specialty, and much more.
  • Oh, and yes, it's included in your standard Listings package, so no extra charge, enjoy!
  • Try it, it's fun!...
Below is a 4 minute video which we hope you will enjoy:

New Updates to Domains, Logins and Pre-defined Searches

Domain Aliases

You can now register custom domain names which can be pointed to different parts of your website.

For example: "www.gowithjaneqagent.com" can be pointed to go to "www.janeqagent.com/signup.html" or "www.janeqagent.com/special.html". This new feature provides additional flexibility and promotes search engine ranking based on the words included in your domain name. You can find this feature under "Website" section in your Private Office.

Control your page flow after user login

You can now specify in your login weblet what page your website user will be shown upon successful login. For example, the user can be shown a Virtual Office Website page (if such product is available in your region). This configuration option is available in the "Login Weblet" configuration screen.

Pre-defined searches

You, as an agent, may specialize in certain kinds of properties and you may want to advertise these via a link or simply by allowing your users to quickly jump to the listings which are your specialty, for example "High End Condos", "Downtown Lofts", etc. You can now capture these specialized listings into one or more "Pre-Defined Searches".

You can construct the search using any of our currently available search forms and save it under a name of your choice. Each such search will also have an associated URL which can be attached to a custom button, link or an image on your website. Now you can have listings automatically displaying anywhere you want on your website based on a building address, price range, area or property type.
